Seeds of Sadaqah - For Jamila Yusuf farah

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

Surely we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved auntie, Jamila Yusuf Farah, who returned to Allah after her battle with leukemia during the blessed days of Dhul Hijjah.

She was someone whose kindness, generosity, and warmth touched everyone around her. Her presence brought comfort, and her laughter had a way of filling every room with joy. Jamila leaves behind her four beautiful children two girls and two boys along with a family and community who will continue to cherish her memory and the impact she had on so many lives.

To honour the beautiful light our auntie Jamila leaves behind, we have created this Sadaqah Jariyah appeal in her name. Our intention is to raise funds towards ongoing charitable projects that will continue to benefit her in the Hereafter, بإذن الله. These contributions may go towards initiatives such as:

  • Building or supporting a mosque
  • Water wells and clean water projects
  • Supporting vulnerable families and children

We pray that every donation made becomes a source of noor (light), mercy, and ongoing reward for Jamila in her grave and in the Hereafter. May Allah (SWT) forgive her sins, expand and illuminate her grave, grant her the highest levels of Jannah, and grant patience and strength to her children and loved ones during this difficult time.

Ameen.

HELP US BUILD A WELL

According to UNICEF, “785 million people today do not have basic access to water,” leaving families no choice but to rely on unsafe sources and face preventable, life-threatening diseases.

In Somalia, the crisis is even more severe. An estimated 6.4 million people do not have reliable access to safe water. Many families walk long distances each day or depend on contaminated sources just to survive.

Prolonged drought, extreme weather, and climate shocks have intensified water scarcity, devastated crops and livestock, and displaced millions in search of food, shelter, and clean water.

Our project will support the town of Kabxanley by constructing a deep water well by 2027, delivering a sustainable and dependable source of clean water to families who currently have none. Alongside this, we will introduce a rainwater harvesting system  an innovative solution in Somalia to capture and store seasonal rainfall, strengthening local water supply.

Together, these solutions do more than provide water. They protect health, restore dignity, and help communities build resilience and long-term self-sufficiency.

Your support will help reduce waterborne disease and ensure families have reliable access to safe, clean water  today and for generations to come.

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP FUND

It is a sad reality that less than 20% of young people who live in the Horn of Africa have the opportunity to attend university. Many become caught in a cycle of disadvantage and lose access to both education and much-needed learning support. You can change that, and make tertiary education possible for a student in Mogadishu. Recipients will have the opportunity to study from Medicine, Nursing, Engineering and Agriculture.  Scholarships are more than financial support, they enhance the portfolio of achievement of young person.
